Core Features
Creating Workouts
Manually:
- Go to the Workouts tab and tap +.
- Add exercises one at a time. For each exercise, set:
- Name (searches the exercise library automatically)
- Type (rep-based or time-based)
- Sets, reps or duration, rest periods
- Weight (kg) or resistance band color
- Group exercises into supersets or circuits for structured training.
- Assign exercises to warm-up, main, or cool-down phases.
With Smart Coaching:
- Tap Suggest Session on the Home tab (or the floating prompt bar in any workout view).
- Describe what you want in plain language, e.g. "30-minute upper body with dumbbells" or "Quick HIIT no equipment".
- AthletiQ generates a complete workout using your profile, equipment, and request.
- Review, edit, save, or discard the suggestion.
Running a Workout
- Open a workout and tap Play.
- The app guides you through each exercise with set/rep counters and rest timers.
- Flow mode runs exercises in fixed order. Flexible mode lets you pick what to do next.
- After each set, log your actual reps and weight if they differ from the target.
- Rest timers run automatically between sets and exercises. If you leave the app during rest, a floating bubble brings you back.
- At the end, see your session summary with total duration, reps, and estimated calories.
Camera Rep Counting
- During a workout, tap the camera icon to enable live rep counting.
- Position your device so your full body is visible.
- The app uses on-device pose detection (MediaPipe) to track your movement and count reps in real time.
- Audio and haptic feedback confirm each counted rep.
- All camera processing happens locally on your device. No images or video are stored or transmitted.
Tips for accurate counting:
- Ensure good lighting and a clear background.
- Place your device at a stable angle where your full body is in frame.
- Wear form-fitting clothing for better landmark detection.
- If counts are inconsistent, check the debug overlay in Settings to see detection confidence.
Training Programs
- Go to the Plans tab and tap + to create a program.
- Set a name, start date, and duration.
- Schedule workouts by day of the week (e.g., Mon/Wed/Fri) or by interval (e.g., every 2 days).
- Optionally enable progressive overload to automatically increase weight, volume, or reduce rest over time.
- Start the program and the app tracks which workout is next, how many sessions you've completed, and your progression.
History & Analytics
Access from the Board tab or the Stats & History shortcut on Home.
History:
- See all completed workouts sorted by date.
- Tap any session for a detailed breakdown of exercises, sets, reps, and weights used.
Analytics:
- Filter by week, month, year, or all time.
- Muscle Balance radar chart shows how evenly you train across muscle groups.
- Time Distribution shows hours spent per muscle group.
- Summary stats: total workouts, total time, average duration, total calories.

- Enable/disable the debug overlay during workouts.
Signing Out
Go to Settings > Account > Sign Out. Your data remains synced in the cloud and will be available when you sign back in.
Troubleshooting
Rep counting is inaccurate or not working
- Make sure your full body is visible in the camera frame.
- Check lighting conditions. Low light reduces detection accuracy.
- In Settings, try lowering the landmark visibility threshold.
- Enable the debug overlay to see which joints are being detected and their confidence scores.
- Ensure the exercise has detection conditions configured (some exercises may not support camera counting).
Workout generation fails
- Check your internet connection.
- Verify your subscription is active.
- Try simplifying your prompt if the request is very complex.
- Restart the app and try again.
Workouts or data not syncing
- The app uses a local-first architecture. Data saves to your device immediately and syncs to the cloud in the background.
- Check your internet connection. The app will sync automatically when connectivity is restored.
- If issues persist, try signing out and back in.
App crashes or freezes during a workout
- Your session data is saved locally as you go. Reopen the app and your progress should be recoverable.
- Make sure your device has sufficient storage and your iOS version is up to date.
Camera permission not granted
- Go to your device's Settings > AthletiQ and enable Camera access.
- Restart the app after granting permission.
